Edith Stein – St. Teresia Benedicta of the Cross was citizen of Wrocław; her family house, renovated by the efforts of Society of Edith Stein, has become the meeting place for dialogue between people of different nations, cultures and religions. On the threshold of the new millennium Edith Stein was announced Co-Patron Saint of Europe by Pope John Paul II.

In 2016, when Wroclaw is the European Capital of Culture, we celebrate the centenary of Edith Stein’s doctoral dissertation, devoted to the issue of empathy.

The person and works of Edith Stein, in the current political, social, intellectual and spiritual situation, inspires us to far-reaching reflection on the future of Europe.
